A hot date in a cool city

I lied. It was a hot date in a hot city.

Brian and Shannon decided to recreate their first date for part of their engagement shoot. They had their first date over a glass of wine at Colt and Grey on Platte street in Denver.

We had been planing their engagement session for a month and who knew that the weather would become record-breaking? But we battled it out, after pushing the start time of the shoot back by two hours, that was a good plan. It was still a scorcher though. We played on a grass hill in Millennium park, broke rules and photographed on a stairwell (photographers have problems reading signs sometimes – we are the image people, not the word people); played in the middle of the street – Mom even watched us; lounged about, living the high life in a classy hotel – complete with orange-infused water, enjoyed some good literature and to top it off: ran though sprinklers.

Good. Times.

Don’t you just love the way he looks at her?

Nothing sweeter than this.

This happened.

Which lead to this. We are all just big kids anyway right?

That wall is anything but cool.

Chivalry.

We are so sneaky. Illegal stairs and all.

We might have done some furniture rearranging. Maybe.

Malfunctioning Sprinkler + Hot Day = Personal mister = WIN.

A Princess and a Cowboy

Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of two amazingly sweet people! I am fortunate enough to have gotten to know them over the last few years, as well as their family. Tammy and Paul are so amazing and giving to everyone around them I am honored that I got to photograph their wedding celebration last summer! And by the end of next month, they will be grandparents to two brand new babies in their family.

The amazing Taylor Family, so many great people!

A drive to Romance

When I first met up Jen and Matt I knew on the spot that I wanted to capture their wedding. They had such a fun idea! They had a Rolls Royce pick them up from the Ritz-Carlton downtown and we drove up to Flagstaff mountain where a Justice of the Peace met them and conducted the ceremony.

It was an adrenaline rush for sure. Chasing a Rolls-Royce up the mountain? Thank goodness I had my trusty Second-Shooter/Stunt Driver Isaac Small there to help! Jen and Matt left the next day for Mexico!

I guess you had to be there …

Today Sarah and Chris are celebrating their one-year anniversary!

These two are so adorable. Just a wonderful couple that really support one another. I really enjoy Facebook as a business owner because I am able to keep in contact with my clients from the past and its always great to hear how they are doing. These two are solid.

They got married at Meadow Creek in Pine. The day was so beautiful and the meadow was lush and green. The crew was great – Something about dollar bills and Vegas (I still don’t know what exactly that was about and I am ok with it) kept them entertained the whole day. Ok, I still see comments about Dollar bills on Facebook.

Congratulations to Chris and Sarah for the first year in your life-long journey keep on dancing!!!

And the Thunder Rolled

Tara and Paul recently had their one year wedding anniversary! Congratulations to these two! Now. Their wedding was quite memorable as it started out like any June day in Colorado. It was beautiful and sunny. They had their wedding at the Crystal Rose venue in Highlands Ranch. We went outside to have group photos before hand and everything was going just to plan. Paul and his boy’s were having a blast jumping over fences, and the girls were all chatting in the dressing room.

5 minutes before the ceremony was going to start (Bridal party was getting lined up to go out side) and a HUGE – I’m talking HUGE clap of thunder erupts overhead. And then the power went out. (Like I said, typical June day in Colorado). But the generators kicked in and the staff at the Crystal Rose did a speedy turn-around and in less than 10 minutes we were ready for the ceremony – now inside. It was great, and as always, the storm passed and we were able to do more portraits outside right after the ceremony, with the beautiful “after-the-rain light.”

The night continued with an awesome  slide show of embarrassing photos, cake cutting, and some crazy dancing. What a fun time that night was! Truly an unforgettable event! Congrats you two on a year of marriage!

Heather + David = Luv

Heather + David = One spectacular day and a beautiful happily ever after.

I’ve known Heather for years. I first met her at Metro in the news room (where a ton of my friendships began). She moved on and I filled her shoes as assistant editor. Now, I wish I could describe Heather to you, but there is no word that sums her up easily. She is Bubbly, spaztic (in the nicest way possible), crazy, fun, loving and will just make you smile with one giggle. Heather and I have been hanging out a lot lately. She has decided to join my team as one of my regular shooters for my biz. So I was more than excited to tag team along with Jenn LeBlanc to shoot Heather and David’s wedding.

I love David too. They are the perfect pair. Ha! Just talking about them makes me want to drive to their house and give them a huge hug! – ok, back to David. He is an awesome guy, who is a little more reserved than Heather, which probably does her tons of good 🙂

Now, since Heather is a photographer, Jenn and I have vowed only to give a few sneak peaks from their wedding – in attempt that Heather will be able to remember her wedding as she saw it and not through Jenn and I’s eyes. (Fotogs tend to remember images very easy and memories begin to fade). But this whole arrangement has been so much harder for Jenn and I than Heather I think! I had the hardest time narrowing down her images to only three.

So here they are. I will put more up on my site as soon as Heather and David get them – cuz their wedding was so fun – We crashed Room&Board of Cherry Creek and went to one of the snazzyest (yes that is a word now) Alley’s I’ve ever seen! So tune back in a few weeks!!!

Congratulations to David and Heather! We love you so much!!!!!

Are we having fun? O I think so!!!

Before their introduction as Hubby and Wife

Tara and Paul

I am so excited for this weekend! Tara and Paul are getting married a week from today. It is going to be really fun wedding, I can already tell with the couple. I am also excited because I get to have Heather Longway shoot with me. (I shot her engagements in March). It should be a great day. Since I’ve been behind on my posting, I thought this would be a good time to get Paul and Tara’s photos up from their engagement that we had at the beginning of the month.

Looking forward to next weekend!

A day at the Playground

I am so excited for a few reasons, and they all involve the Pogar/Carlson family.

A few weeks ago Adriana emailed me and told me her husband Chris has started a new videography company and are looking for couples who are looking for video for their weddings. I am so excited to be working with them! They are such a fun couple and have a great background. If you would like info on their work feel free to contact me and I will give you more information.

I also got the privilege to take Adriana’s maternity photos! This was my first maternity shoot, and I gotta say,I really got into it.  We had so much fun, Monday was PERFECT! Not to hot, beautiful light and of course Adriana’s beautiful face! She is due at the beginning of July, they are expecting a baby girl!

Enjoy a few photos from the shoot 🙂

This one is just too funny! No idea what is going on here!
